( 2 ) In this case the Battery had not had a lid{A. J. Lidsey} fitted, as it was suggested by H.Wst as not being necessary. This cannot happen with the new design. UPHOLSTERY. The frame work has been altered and an improved fastening made of the roofing. SEATS. The front seats which collapsed is now a much better job. The webbing has been replaced by wire and each spring is supported. The sliding mechanism looks better but will have to be checked. WINDSCREEN. It was found that one of the bolts holding the blade had been fitted the wrong way round which fouled the rubber beading on flap at the bottom of the windscreen. This is O.K. DOORS. The steel frame has been reinforced where the screws for the attachment of door hinges, door wedges, etc.,come. These points were thoroughly gone into and the extra thickness of metal combined with fine thread screws should overcome the loosening of these parts. The door handle mounting and the fitting of the locks have been so re-designed that most of the screws have been deleted, looks a good job. SPARE WHEEL MOUNTING. The door of the luggage compartment where the spare wheel is mounted has been strengthened by 2 box section steel tubes which are welded to the remaining steel construction. A lip 3/4" wide takes the four bolts holding the hub for the spare wheel. The bolts are tapped over and sweated after fixing. We tried a complete fitment and it was very solid. ----------------- G.W.H. | ||
