To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}10/MH.{M. Huckerby}17.11.37. x 200a BRAKES 6.B.IV. Stop on Servo Levers to R.R.Sch. 1006. With reference to HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth}2/VS.{J. Vickers}16.11.37. The stop in question is quite unimportant and would never come into operation under 50,000 miles. It would be quite safe to run 6.B.IV in France without the stop, but will you please straighten it as best you can. We have bent it in making some special tests and we have had to straighten it once already. As we explained in our note Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}5.10.37 we are having a drawing prepared of cams with the stops integral: but as it is now not intended to use Girling brakes on Bentley IIA they will probably never be made.
