X.3749. X.2515. RE FUSE WIRE FOR LUCAS SWITCHBOARD. Although this matter was taken up some time ago, I find that we are still turning out cars with fuse wire for the Lucas switchbox which is not satisfactory and does not come up to the specification. It was agreed some time ago that the correct wire would be obtained and that we should be supplied with quantities to send on to the Depots. We have advised them accordingly, but have not yet received the wire. We shall be glad if you willplease arrange for this job to be pushed forward. Although we have not experienced much trouble with the fuse failing on the cars returned, we certainly do feel concerned as to the behavior of the cars in this respect whilst they are in customers' hands, and we are anxious to eliminate any failures taking place, especially in view of the fact that the wire itself, apart from not being strong enough, is unsatisfactory for fixing on the present fuse pots.
