C5/C13.12.33 TAIL LAMPS FOR CONTINENTAL USE. E3/HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}12.33. --------- What you set out in your memo. is, of course, quite in order as regards wiring for tail lamps. Our system with Rolls-Royce cars at the present time, however, appears to work quite satisfactorily and complies with all the requirements of the Continent, so that at the moment there does not appear to be any necessity for further expenditure on this point, more particularly as up to the present we have not been able to effect the saving on the tail lamp that we expect to be able to do when Lucas can manufacture a satisfactory lamp. We do not, of course, want the Bentley to be ahead in this respect to the Rolls-Royce if it can be avoided, and we suggest, therefore, that for the time being at least it will be quite satisfactory if you make similar arrangements on the Bentley as you make on the Rolls-Royce.
