YOUR REF 20th March 1939 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, Derby. 62. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Salt. Experimental Dept. We confirm our telephone conversation this morning referring to your order No.82013, and we were extremely sorry to learn that there is some confusion with regard to the Short Cylinder Inserts which we sent to you. According to our advice note we sent you 8 in Hicrome material and 10 in Brivadium material, and this information agrees with the dockets issued against actual production. It would appear therefore, that there has been some oversight in the marking of these Inserts, and we suggested on the 'phone that the best thing to do was to send them back to us and we would have them checked over at once. We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused you in sending these in incorrectly marked. Yours faithfully, THE BRITISH PISTON RING CO LTD. SALES DEPARTMENT.
