To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From H.W.H. Hôtel de France, Châteauroux, Indre. 7/7/29. We have to-day been carrying out steering tests and verifying our results after the alteration to the autovac. Firstly, we have definitely overcome the shortage of petrol. There is no starvation now during long duration of speed. We are quite happy in this respect. Steering tests have been carried out on the car with its own steering tube and with the side steering tube to R Sch. 2301. As far as we have gone, we prefer its own tube for selectiveness and less severity of joggles. We have not completed the tests due to heavy rain storm making the road slippery. Re oil leaks from bijur pump. We have run a fairly distance after the alterations to the pump and up to now there is no signs of any oil leaking down the dashboard. There is no servo squeak on this car as yet. We are trusting we shall receive some information from Paris re the front axle first thing to-morow morning. H.W.H. | ||
