Referring to yours Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/LG9.11.25 of 9th inst. we are now in receipt of Messrs. J.W. Benson Ltd,'s report regarding Stop Watch No.3141 recently returned to them for rectification. Their letter reads as follows:- "We are extremely sorry that you have had to return the stop watch referred to, and have had it most carefully examined by the Manager of our Factory, who reports that the watch is a thoroughly sound one in every respect, the only fault being that a slight adjustment in the chronograph work was necessary. How the fault could have occurred we are quite at a loss to say, as we are sure that when despatched from here, the watch was in perfect condition, having been thoroughly tested. The adjustment necessary has been carried out, and we propose to test the watch exhaustively for a few days, when it shall be despatched, and we sincerely trust that you will find its future performance in every way satisfactory. Assuring you that our services are always at your immediate disposal". Immediately we are in receipt of the watch same will be handed to you.
