X7535P To Roy{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. EFC3/17.3.28. TWO-UNIT BATTERY CASES (P & R) Our object in requiring these cases was to be able to continue running on chassis test various sandwich batteries (at present 12 volt, the cells of which would be split into six-volt groups) on the newer experimental chassis. There is an error about the number of these required, i.e. we do not ask for six pairs, but six cases, i.e. three pairs corresponding to three 12-volt batteries. In view of the remarks contained in their letter C/O.53 of the 5th inst. and the possibility of the boxes warping by the time we receive them, we would like you to arrange for them to finish and despatch one pair of these cases corresponding to one 12-volt battery. It is clear that we do not want the complete batteries because we want these for the express purpose of being able to run cells that are already half way through a comparative life test. If this one pair comes through and is satisfactory to us for the purpose, we can then arrange for you to order and obtain the remaining two pairs. We return your correspondence, for which many thanks. E.F.C. EFC. | ||
