RR.Bijur(experimental.) 10.85 9.9 10.0 9.8 9.75 We have not yet obtained an efficiency of 50% connected up with our own pump, but a comparison with the large capacity Bijur is not quite fair, as the loss of 1 cc. on our own pump means 10% per stroke, and three strokes are necessary to to make reasonable calculations. The loss of 1 cc. on the Bijur is something under .5%. Owing to the high pressure in the pump and the slow nature of the return of the plunger, it is unreasonable to expect oil not to be forced back past the leather washers. Provided the capacity allows for this there should be no trouble from this source under actual working conditions. BORE AND STROKE.
