Na.{Mr Nadin} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Btn. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to EFC X. 3692 BY3/P22.5.20. [strikethrough]X.3665[/strikethrough] X. 3692 STEEL CASTINGS USED ON CHASSIS. X. 3692 Mr. Royce has decided that we must cut out all steel castings which are at present being fitted to the chassis. The steel castings in questions are:- (a) The outlet on the end of the Swan neck of the Silencer. (b) The steel castings connecting the Swan neck to the Silencer. (c) The steel castings on the intermediate exhaust pipe, on which is built up the cut-out. (d) Engine Feet. Mr. Day is working on new designs for these which we will let you have as soon as they are available. Mr. Royce considers the matter should be sufficiently urgent for me to write to you at once.
