SERVO WORM GEAR. ------------------------- With reference to R3/M2/2.28. we are now producing a set of blanks based on the information supplied to us by Messrs. Bostock & Bramley Ltd. for the servo reduction gear in EAC.10 change speed gearbox. These blanks will be sent to Messrs. Bostock & Bramley for cutting as soon as possible. Messrs. Bostock & Bramley propose that the worm wheel should have 19 teeth instead of 18 as specified on the design drawing, and the lead angle made 10° instead of 6°, which they claim will enable them to give us an efficiency in the neighbourhood of 83%.
