Quarterly Complaints Shows. 7.12.35. Clocks. Usually these are changed when a customer complains, the faulty one being returned to the makers for examination. One definite objection appears to be that the clock, after being wound, requires shaking to set it going. It is thought that since this cannot be done on the car, it sometimes happens that a customer has occasion to wind his clock, and thinks it has gone wrong because it wont start. Another trouble experienced, is that the long stems to the winder drop out. Petrol gauge. 6, Phantom II. 31, 25HP. 24, Bentley. Troubles experienced on these have been :- (1) Needle sticking. (2) No movement of needle due to potentiometer winding being faulty, or potentiometer coil being broken down. (3) Breakdown of insulation on the meter. Speedometers. 5, Phantom III. 19, 25HP. 22, Bentley. The majority of these troubles are of the nature of faulty, trip readings, due presumably to failure of those particular gears. | ||
