-2- (a) First connect terminal No.6 to the positive of a 12 volt battery and connect one terminal of a 12 volt lamp (preferably a large c.p. C.M.F. lamp taking 4 amperes) to the negative end of the battery. The wire from the other terminal of the lamp is used to touch successively on the various distributing terminals Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and R. {Sir Henry Royce} and it shall be verified in this manner that no light is obtained on these terminals with the switches in the 'off' position, but that :- (I) With S and T switched on, light is obtained from terminals Nos. 2 and 5. (II) With H S & T switched on, light is obtained from terminals Nos. 2, 4 and 5. (III) With M & B only switched on, light is obtained from terminal No.3 only. (IV) With M, B & C switched on, light is obtained from terminals Nos. 1, 3 and R. {Sir Henry Royce} Confirm also that in moving slowly back from the position M B & C to M & B the circuit through No.1 is broken before that through R. {Sir Henry Royce} (V) With M & C switched on, light is obtained from terminals Nos. 1 and R. {Sir Henry Royce} (b) Connect battery positive to terminal O, and loose terminal wire to case. Ascertain that no light is obtained except in the off position only. (c) Connect battery positive to terminal N, and loose terminal wire to case. Ascertain that light is obtained in the M & B and M B & C positions only. (d) Now remove battery positive from terminal N, and connect it to 7. Then connect battery negative to case. Connect lamp between terminal CL and case and ascertain that it lights by operating the press button switch. Next, connect lamp terminals to inspection plug and ascertain that it is lighted by inserting the plug in its socket. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /CAP. | ||
