To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} re Jaguar. We give below a record of the troubles encountered on our 3 1/2 litre Jaguar. Speedo reading 210. The petrol tank found leaking at the seams, tank renewed by Jaguars. Speedo reading 6,225. The exhaust pipe broken away at the entrance to the O.S. near expansion box, repaired by welding. One new supporting rubber required. Battery removed, one cell leaking, scuttle damaged by acid. Battery returned to makers, scuttle repaired and repainted, new battery supplied. Speedo reading 6,406. The near side front expansion box had loose baffle as the box was all welded, a spare new expansion box was fitted 2 supporting brackets required loose rubbers. Speedo reading 6,470. Tooth stripped in gearbox, box returned to Jaguars, new box returned. Speedo reading 6,551. New rear brake rod fitted 5/16" s/m to replace broken rod. Speedo reading 8,151.
