BENSPORT SALOON.
M.S. 3487

We send herewith M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Sch. 3487. shewing a quarter scale layout of the Sports Saloon. This drawing also deals with the following chassis details:

(1) BODY BRACKETS. These are given in position. The brackets are themselves those used on Peregrine and J.3.

(2) STEP IRONS. Only two are fitted aside. The front one is that of the 25HP., bent to suit. The rear one is of specially reduced depth of section (1.125") to enable it not to stand out from the frame more than does the spring bracket. To overcome the reduction in strength we suggest that the face may be wider, and the metal thicker.

(3) WING STAYS. These are standard 25HP. bent to suit.

(4) LAMP BRACKETS. These are standard 25HP., but of modified height. We are proposing to fit Lucas lamps to the first cars, as we can obtain these at discount prices. Rotax have no suitable lamp unless we take the one made for Talbot. We suggest that we might wish to use finally Lucas lamps R.160. or 170., as they cannot be said to be of a distinguishing character for the RR. car only, any more than of a Morris.

The increased quantities of the joint Peregrine and Bensport would undoubtedly increase the contract discount.

(5) PETROL TANK FILLER. This drawing gives the height of the petrol tank filler, which is otherwise like Peregrine. We suggest Peregrine should be lengthened, like this one for Bensport, so avoiding duplication of parts.

Please send us 2 prints of this drawing, and return the original to us.
