To R.{Sir Henry Royce} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to W. H.R. c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Pe. c. to Hdy.{William Hardy} Sp.{Mr Spinney} SEMI AUTOMATIC CARBURETTER. Had we use our semi-automatic carburetter we lose an effective mixture control as we knew it with the present existing carburetter. Although we have controls to operate the jets the range of mixture control varies with the position of the air valve. When the air valve closes the range may be sufficient to nearly stop the engine but as the air valve lifts the range becomes less and less effective. With semi-automatic carburetter/ the mixture control is used for starting once the engine is warmed up the normal position is full weak. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
