HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x206 To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Es.Hore re Bentley Brakes - 4¼-Litre. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}11/E16.4.36 Referring to what I have previously written about Bentley brakes, I see from Mr. Raymond Mays' report after his trip to Monte Carlo on his new 4¼-litre that he has returned the car with a list of complaints amongst which he says: Brakes are poor particularly after hard use -- something definitely wrong. It is interesting to note that he never had any complaint to make about the brakes on his 3½-litre and, as the brakes are identical, this criticism bears out what has been said, i.e. that the brakes on the 4¼-litre are not up to their job.
