Mr. W. Arthur Robotham,
Detroit Athletic Club,
Detroit, Mich.

Dear Mr. Robotham:-

Enclosed is our marked up blue print ND-7650 of Chrysler 3 1/4" piston showing how we propose to machine this piston for your requirement of fourteen pieces.

I regret if I gave you the impression that we would supply the rings for we are not connected in any way with any ring manufacturer, and would have to buy these rings on the open market the same as any one else. I would suggest a good combination of rings for piston would be a 1/8" plain compression, two 1/8" Model 70 and one 3/16" Model 85.. These rings you can obtain on short notice from the representative of the Perfect Circle Piston Ring Company in the General Motors Building.

In regard to Alumiliting, I was under the impression that through your contact at Cadillac you would have this work done after the pistons were delivered to you. However, as you do not expect to be in Detroit when these pistons are ready for delivery and I am to handle the Alumiliting, it may be necessary for these pistons to be shipped from our Plant at Cleveland to Aluminum Colors' Plant in Detroit where they will be Alumilited, and then returned to our Cleveland Plant to be packed for export shipment and sent direct from there to Rolls-Royce, Derby, England. In this case, there may be a small additional charge over the $4.00 per piston for this work.

The order has been entered for the fourteen pistons, and I will personally follow up on the processing of them to assure you of as quick delivery as possible.

Thanking you for favoring us with your interest in our type of piston, we remain

Yours very truly,

ALUMINUM COMPANY OF AMERICA
