As on previous engines, the oil pressure
when idling with hot oil was very low.

After running 15 hours, the dynamo drive
bush seized up, but prior to this happening the gears are
very quiet, there being no whine and very little rattle.
The oil pump gears chatter badly.

Oil leaked from the crankcase into the
flywheel cover and presumably past the rear bearing as in
this unit there is a definite joint between the lower half
and the crankcase. It is only fair to say that we were
running without the air intake and breather connections,
but running under the same conditions on our previous units
this leak did not occur.
