Dear Sirs, We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 3rd. inst., in which you refer to the visit of the writer to your Works on Thursday last - 2nd. inst., and would take this opportunity of confirming that we will arrange for the balance of the 10" diameter pressure plates to be maintained independent of the cover assembly and that final balance of the complete assembly will be obtained by removing material from the outside flange of the pressed steel cover. It is understood that all the clutches so far delivered for production (50-) will be returned by you to be re-balanced in accordance with the foregoing, and also it is our definite understanding that you now desire to revert to the lighter thrust springs (147-155.lbs. coloured Brown) such as were utilised for all your original tests. We appreciate your remarks in regard to the continuity of production and are accordingly arranging for 12-10" clutches to be built in accordance with the above remarks, and same will be forwarded to you at the earliest possible moment. You will appreciate that we are taking this action before awaiting the return of the 50 clutches previously delivered, mentioned above.
