To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from BJ. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} As X8450 BJ7/D12.8.26. Phantom Steering, Springs, etc. I quite agree with your views and the views expressed in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG7/8/26 in regard to dealing with complaints of steering. As Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is visiting R.{Sir Henry Royce} early in next week, please arrange for him to discuss the matter with R.{Sir Henry Royce} and obtain his acquiescence in the methods which are being adopted. It would certainly save us a considerable amount of money if R.{Sir Henry Royce} would agree to the suggestions made by Works officials. Kindly explain to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} the position of this matter, as I see from EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/H9.7.26, addressed to HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}, EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} is waiting for final instructions. As regards the last paragraph of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG7.8.26 with regard to further tests on covered cars, I am asking Sales officials what they wish to do in regard to this.
