X 1775 Exptl. Dept. 4th June, 1934. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/KW. Messrs. The Alta Car & Engineering Co.Ltd., Fuller's Way, Kingston Bye-pass, Surbiton, SURREY. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of May 31st. The results you have obtained are of considerable interest to us. Our experience has been that white metal will not withstand continued running under high loads. It will stand a brief period, then fatigue sets in and it cracks up. However, your requirements are probably only for short bursts of power. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
