Bailey - Chief Engineer} E2/G22.9.21. X.4239 - RE GOSHAWK 11. CONTROLS. We send you herewith drawing No.1eC.1454 illustrating the Goshawk 11. controls. This drawing has been specially made to shew the principle clearly whereby the double throttle is operated. The accelerator pedal always returns to its stop formed by the floorboards. The throttle mechanism returns to the stop lever marked "A" set by the steering wheel control. The spring "B" has to overcome the small throttle spring "C" when the throttle is allowed to close. The springs "B", "D" and "E" resist the foot pressure of the accelerator pedal while the spring "C" assists the foot pressure. In the actual scheme springs "B" and "E" are designed as torsion springs, but are shewn diagrammatically on this drawing as tension springs for clearness. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
