c. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}G/MH.{M. Huckerby} 3rd. February 1938. Messrs. Vandervell Products Ltd., Western Avenue, Park Royal, London, W.3. For the attention of G.A.Vandervell, Esq. Dear Sirs, With reference to your letter GAV/JK. 24.1.38, we still do not understand why the steel sleeve outside your thin wall bearing would be unsatisfactory provided it is a tight fit in the housing. Our final decision is that we try your bearing either with the sleeve or not at all. Will you please send us the six thin wall bearings. We will make the steel sleeve. Will you please also send six thrust washers, and let us know the price of these in lots of 400, and the limits to which you guarantee parallelism of the faces. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
