Completion of B.V.
Chassis for Sale.

Referring to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/ML.20.3.40. I agree to one Corniche model being completed and going to France provided that it can be sent to France under present conditions and provided Sr. can get the coachwork completed. I have asked C. to obtain further information on these two points.

I note that you can build up a further 5 standard chassis on the lines indicated.

I have spoken to Archer about Frame No: 16 which I could not understand and gather that this is a completed chassis which for some reason or other has not been given a number.

I have asked him to have this done and I have asked C. then to have a body fitted.

There will be no need, as far as these extra chassis are concerned, to tell Park Ward to build up more of the all-steel bodies because we want to use up 6 wood and aluminium bodies which were constructed for the Show when we knew that the all-steel ones would not be ready in time.

These bodies are made and we have had to pay Park Ward quite a substantial amount on account so we want to use them up.

I note Archer has been asked to submit a programme of when he thinks the further chassis can be completed.

Please ask him to send this direct to C. with a copy to me.
