re- Modified P.100 Headlamps

CxIO/KW19.6.35.

As you probably know, we were arranging for lamps on customers' cars to be modified in accordance with recent recommendations, in order to avoid a black-out.

Br suggests that the simplest and least troublesome way for him to get customers' lamps modified when the cars come in for repair is to merely change over bodily the whole of the inside of the lamp for a modified unit.

We had intended to fit a temporary pair of lamps to the car if Lucas' were unable to modify them before the car left the Repair Depot, and then ask for the car to come in again to have its original lamps put back after modification. This is a lengthy and troublesome process, and Br's suggestion is in my opinion very much better, as the change is made in about 2 hours and the inside unit removed from the lamp is then sent to Lucas' for modification.

We should like to have your, or Lucas', final approval of this arrangement, so perhaps if you feel justified in asking Lucas' if they agree to our proposal, you will do so and let me know.

We are anxious to get on with this job as soon as possible now, and wish to be sure that in doing this we are doing nothing contrary to the wishes of Messrs Lucas or yourselves.
