X7010 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}4/MP.19.3.34. c.c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RHO. re Crankshafts. We send you herewith drawing LeC.3817 shewing the Phantom crankshaft with the balance weights formed integral with the shaft. The adoption of this is dependent on the number of Phantom cars made before the introduction of the SpectreCodename for Phantom III chassis. Also herewith a drawing - LeC.3825 shewing the Bentley crankshaft with integral balance weights. We should like this made and tested on the next 10,000 miles car. The amount of balance is the same as before, and this can be also used on the 20/25 HP. chassis, but we should be obliged to accept 62% balance weights as against 82% which is desired on the 20/25 HP.
