✓ 6112 Expl. Dept. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gib.7/MJ. 17th. January, 1935. Messrs. Smiths Aircraft Instruments Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON. N.W.2. For the attention of Mr. J.E. Chorlton. Dear Sir, With reference to your letters of the 8th. and 9th. inst., re Electrical Fuel Level Indicator, we have pleasure in sending you two detail drawings of the tanks INS.562 Petrol Tank, and INS.568 Oil Tank. We would like your advice regarding the best position for fitting the level indicators. The unit in which these tanks are going to be fitted can be tilted 15° "nose" up or down from the horizontal and 10° sideways, i.e. equivalent to climbing, diving, or "banking" of an aircraft. We would be pleased to receive your suggestions as early as possible as we wish to put the tanks in "hand". We would also be grateful if you would forward to us another drawing of the Tank Attachment X.30519, as the one you sent us has inadvertently been destroyed. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
