Ventilation of Cars. I tried on one of the new Bentley cars the ventilation which I believe you are proposing to adopt, and that is, the scheme which can be operated with the window up and the whole lot goes down with the window. I think this scheme misses the chief virtue of the Fisher scheme. With the Fisher scheme, in Summer weather you can go along with all the windows open, adjust your deflectors and you get no draughts. This scheme as on the Bentley I thought was a very poor compromise. I have heard that one of the advantages claimed for the scheme that is being adopted is that when the cars are standing in the showroom the window can be turned down and the bar down the middle does not show. I cannot believe that this is serious because it is safe to prophesy that within another twelve months cars which do not have a bar down the window will look out of date.
