Mr. Robotham,
Rolls Royce Ltd.,
Derby, England.

My dear Mr. Robotham:

Am sure this will interest you and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} too I believe. I sent something of this to Elliott quite a while ago.

As representing St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Warner's answers to the A.{Mr Adams} C. Fuel Pump, which, being General Motors, has given them quite a black eye, it seems to cover about the full range of possibilities, if one excepts the Stanton "indicator" fuel control which I wrote Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} about recently.

St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Warner, as I gather from their representative, have in their minds three main developments in series.

(1) Vacuum feed with booster and with a series-opening air valve to give quicker action. This is already on many cars as standard. Franklin particularly.

(2) Electric carburetter without float chamber. Now on motorboats but not standard on any car yet. The details of submerged contacts etc. are very interesting. No-one ever dreams of running a car with a flat battery and the self-starter out of action.

We fit "Auto-pulse" on Silver Ghosts to replace pressure feed and have had no trouble. This is a similar device, not quite so highly developed.

(3) The "Direct" Fuel Feed System. They claim this as the logical final development and insist that with a sample car to play with for a few weeks, they can in every case "run rings around" any other system, for acceleration, smoothness and cold-starting. It is also being developed with modifications for air-craft.
