-2- We understand that Mr. Minchin is having this body covered in fabric for lightness and silence. Messrs.Mulliners have doubts about the success of making it a semi-panelled Weymann, using all aluminium panels, and we agree with their opinion. We do suggest that such a body could be panelled in aluminium in the rear boot, rear quarters and the head, if the scuttle and screen pillars were panelled in steel, with a joint at thetop of the screen pillar. The doors we suggest, should be panelled in aluminium below the waist line and in steel above, the joint being masked by the waist moulding. This is the construction we saw in use in France by several French Coachbuilders and in particular Messrs.Binder. The locks on the body, as on the French bodies, were Silent Travel. Ferodo door buffers were also used. We hope we shall have an opportunity of trying this car and of seeing it after it has gone a considerable mileage. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
