IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM OF ROLLS ROYCE AND BENTLEY CHASSIS. --------------------- We think the following should be brought to your notice concerning trouble which we experienced on the undermentioned chassis :- CHASSIS 3.BU.140 - ALLIZON - New car. Trouble : Dynamo not charging. Cause : The cable (size(23/36) from out-put regulator and out-cut to the upper terminal of n°. 1 fuse holder, was found to be corroded and broken near the terminal at the out-put regulator end. We suppose that corrosion took place after the soldering operation. CHASSIS GRP.33 - Paris Trials Car - New car Trouble : Intermittant failure of the electrical system. Cause : Fautly soldering of one of the battery terminals The terminal was pulled away from the cable without any effort. CHASSIS B.21.HM{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} - de KERNAVANOIS - 2.646 Kms. Complaint: Cigar lighter not working. Cause : The cable which is connected to the upper (+) terminal of the general fuse to the upper terminal of the cigar lighter fuse was found to be completely burnt out. We at this end fit Smith's "Push In" type cigar lighters and these draw about 12 AMPS. Our head electrician thinks that the above cable could be of thicker section with advantage. CARTRIDGE Type fuse: We have had several cases where the fuse wire has been badly soldered to the metal caps of the above type of fuses. We take it that these fuses are purchased outside. VA. | ||
