FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE BUYING DEPARTMENT. Dear Sirs, The writer called at your stand at Olympia on the 23rd October in the hope of having a preliminary talk with a member of your Staff associated with the Buying Department regarding starter batteries of the alkaline electrolyte type, which are under our consideration for manufacture. Unfortunately, such a discussion was not possible as none of your purchasing staff were available. However, the substance of the discussion was to inform you that the production of a starter battery employing the nickel and cadmium types of plates was under consideration, and with a battery of this type it would, of course, be appreciated that it would not be much use manufacturing for the types of cars whose life is only in the proximity of two to three years. You are no doubt familiar with the long life properties of an alkaline battery and when we inform you that we are hoping to be able to manufacture these batteries in sizes which would accommodate themselves in the battery compartments used by the lead batteries, and also that they would be fitted without adjustments to the generators or charging equipment, we think that our proposition should be of interest to you, since the battery would have a life over a period more in keeping with the life of your cars. The writer would be pleased to call upon you at your convenience to discuss this subject more fully, but at cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} l.324/2m.000/10/35 DEPOTS AT PRINCIPAL TOWNS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. | ||
