We have been very careful not to delete any-thing which will prevent all normal work from being carried out on the car when in customers hands. The saving in cost is summarised below under two headings, immediate, and future economies. Cost of Cost after Cost after present immediate future equipment. economies. economies. 20/25. Car. £6. 9. 6d. £5. 16. 2d. £5. 5. 3d. P.11. Car. £9.17. 7d. £6. 2. 8d. £5.10. 1d. The price of hub dismantling tools is not included in either column, as these are at present not supplied. Although it is now decided to include them again. In the last column we have not included the saving which we hope to accomplish by using double ended jaw spanners, as the cost of these is not yet to hand. These figures therefore will be reduced by the amount we can save by using double ended jaw spanners. The decision to supply hub dismantling tools will increase the cost of the kit appreciably as these tools are rather expensive. The nett cost of the kit will there-fore not appear very much less costly than before the suggested cuts were made. There are several tools which in our opinion are excessively costly and we suggest that the buying department use their best efforts to obtain a reduction of these figures; the tools in question are :- 20/25 HP. CAR. G.S2664 - Hub retaining nut 2/2½d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} E.51292/3/4 - Valve spring replacement tool. 5/6d. G.S3140 - Dunlop wheel spanner (the price of £1. 9. 0 has recently been reduced to £1. 0. 3. but this figure is still, in our opinion excessive.) | ||
