X.8720 To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EH. c. to CJ. c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to OY. _____________ EH2/LG12.2.19. 12th February 1919. X.3501. X.3426 Mr. Olley has advocated the use of a 3-speed gear box on the cars. We notice also, that the gear box sent through for the smaller chassis has only 3-speeds. The opinion of the officials at the works who handle cars are so unanimously in favour of the 4-speeds that we thought it would be worth while to get their views and send them on to Mr. Royce. Attached herewith are reports from Mr. Bellringer, Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}, EH; EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} has already sent his views on this matter to Mr. Royce.
