Huckerby}23.12.33 re DYNAMO LUBRICATION - GMU-23 - RITCHIE ------------------------------------------ With reference to your H12/H21.12.33, the lubrication of the bearing referred to on the dynamo has continually been a point of contention. The present method, however, of attending to this lubrication is to draw back the cover so that the lubricator top can be taken off; the cover should then be turned round so as to allow the drain hole of this cover to pass over the top of the lubricator, which makes this lubricator quite accessible. The position above described is illustrated in Fig.29 of our Instruction Book, page 89. In this illustration, however, the lubricator top is refixed so as to hold the cover in position while the engine is being turned or the brush being attended to. We appreciate, however, that the question of accessibility of the commutator and brush gear under present conditions is not very good, and we trust that this matter will receive our Design and Experimental attention.
