x464 346 To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/HP.24.5.34. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SpectreCodename for Phantom III Rear Springs. With reference to By/Cgh.{W Clough}10/G.18.5.34 addressed to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} we understand that the difficulty consists in no initial deflection having been specified on the LeC. drawing of the rear springs. We intend the initial deflection to be 10.25, that is the same as the Phantom low rated springs, and as regards the weight of spring, we consider that springs of 1200, 1250 and 1300 lbs should be ordered. We expect the 1300 lbs will be rather on the stiff side. The other information, namely, 1.5 negative camber under load and 4.25 maximum bump remains as on the above letter.
