1293. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les8/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 4th October, 1937. Gordon Armstrong, Esq., Eastgate, Beverley, YORKS: Dear Mr. Armstrong, We are wanting the following dampers:- 6 off right hand to FB.3164. 6 " left " " FB.3164. 6 " to FB.3111. 6 " to FB.3112. For these dampers we will send you an official order so that they can be paid for in the normal manner. For the dampers to FB.3164, we should like you to supply everything, including the levers if you can get these made from hand forgings. If it is essential to make dies for the levers, it will probably be quicker for us to make them. For the dampers FB.3111/2, we will supply in a few days the completely machined casings and the coupling flanges FB.3094, fully machined less serrations. We should like you to supply the shafts FB.3093 which is exactly similar to your shaft, but has a 1/2" diameter location on the end. We are very anxious to receive the first set of four dampers. We have been experiencing trouble from replenishing valves on some of your dampers. These do not appear to be foolproof. The ball can get stuck on the ledge | ||
