Dear Sirs,

6-volt unit Batteries for Phantom II chassis.

A modification to the handle slots is suggested particulars of which are given on the accompanying photostat. The advantages of this modification are twofold.

(1) It enables the insertion of the middle three fingers of one's hand for carrying purposes.

(2) The fact of the slot being put somewhat over to one side permits the use of a straight inter-connecting link from one unit to the other of a 12-volt battery giving, at the same time, reasonable clearance between the link and the vent plugs of the two middle cells (end cell of each unit) concerned.

It is our impression that there is still ample strength left in the handles for carrying purposes, particularly when it is remembered that there is only half the weight of the whole battery in each unit to be carried.

We should like to receive your remarks upon this proposition, i.e. as to whether you would approve of this for standard, and as to whether it would introduce any difficulties in manufacture which would permanently affect cost. It will be understood that this is merely an enquiry and will not affect present supplies until you receive instructions to that effect.
