[handwritten] X 3082 RE STARTER MOTOR RELAY CIRCUIT AND [strikethrough] STEERING COLUMN SWITCH. [/strikethrough]

We are now informed that it is Mr. Royce's wish that the starter motor relay circuit be not subject to the ignition switch on the steering column, as so far arranged, but should be capable of being worked independently of this switch. This will involve taking the wire which feeds the push button switch, from the negative bus bar of the Lucas junction box, instead of from the insulated terminal at the lower end of the box, from which the wire to the coil is, and still will be, taken.

Will you kindly have this alteration put through officially. There seems no reason, however, why this simple alteration should not be made, by those responsible for the wiring of the chassis, on chassis at present in the Test Dept.
Any existing wiring diagrams should be altered in accordance with this change.

Mr. Royce's objection to the present arrangement is that he considers the steering column [handwritten] ignition [/handwritten] [strikethrough] additional [/strikethrough] switch is not of sufficient carrying capacity for this purpose.
