113-5 Experimental Department 15th June 1937 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.8/AP. Messrs J.A.Hillman Ltd., Rubber Manufacturers, DUDLEY. Dear Sirs, Referring to your letter of the 3rd inst.,which has been passed on to the writer, we are at present having some difficulty in getting a fan belt to stand up to the job of driving a special fan and would be willing to try out some of your belts against the ones which we are using at the moment. If you would care to supply us with some - two would be sufficient we think. The size of belt required is shown on attached rough sketch and it has to transmit approximately 10 - 12 H.P. running around pulleys of 5.450" external dia. at rotational speeds up to 4500 r.p.m. If you wish to submit belts for our experiments, we should like to receive them as soon as possible in order to fit in with our other tests in progress at the moment. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
