DY.{F R Danby} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} P. 2. CHANGE GEAR LEVER, SPEEDOMETER DRIVE, ETC. DAL/H.12.31. X7310. We despatched to you last night R.{Sir Henry Royce} sch. 3386. shewing the change gear lever, speedometer drive, etc, on above box. It has been decided that for the moment we shall do nothing to isolate the change gear lever from the movement of the box. We should like the lubrication of the thrust bearing on the speedometer drive to be investigated. It appears as though sufficient oil should be carried up as shewn, but it may be that this is not so, when we will make some suggestions as to how it can be improved.
