Paris, July 7th, 1926. Gentlemen, I have pleasure in informing you that I obtained entire satisfaction from the BLACKMAN PETROL FILTER that I had fitted to my aeroplane "ALBERT" with 40 h.p. Salmson engine, both from the point of view of correct functioning of the engine and of good carburation, the Filter eliminating all impurities. Thanks to the BLACKMAN FILTER, I was able to finish the race for the ZENITH AVIATION CUP (Paris-Lyons-Paris) without any trouble, and be assured that I shall recommend it, as its service it has been to me. (Signed) DESCAMPS. YET ANOTHER WORLD RECORD. Paris, September 8th, 1926. I have the pleasure to inform you that on Sunday last, at the Motor Races organised by the M.C.F. on the road to Arpajon, I broke all world's records for 1 kilometre and 1 mile flying start with my 500 cm. Gentlemen, I have pleasure in informing you that last Sunday in the "Bol d'Or" I took first place in the General Class and also broke the previous World Records on the road for the 1,100 cmc. class. My car was fitted for this trial with a BLACKMAN PETROL FILTER, which gave me every satisfaction. Furthermore, I have pleasure in informing you that yesterday in the race at Fontainebleau I was placed first in the 750 cmc. Sports Class, and first in the 1,100 cmc. Touring Class. In this race also my cars were fitted with the BLACKMAN FILTER. (Signed) R.{Sir Henry Royce} SENECHAL. From DODGE BROTHERS (CANADA), LIMITED, Toronto, 4 Canada. July 29th, 1926. The Blackman Petrol Filter Co., Ltd., London, W.C.2, England. Gentlemen, The letter refrained from replying to your letter of June 7th, in which you drew our attention to the performance of your filter in France, fitted to the Senechal car, for the reason that we wished to more carefully check its action. Please be advised the filter you sent us has now been in use under every day road conditions for a period recording a mileage of over 7,000, that at no time has the filter failed to function, and that the experience with the same is absolutely satisfactory. We would be pleased to receive your best quotation in quantities of 5,000 or less, inlet and outlet connection to be machined and threaded to take our standard S.A.E. pipe threads. Yours very truly, E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} P. CLARKSON, Managing Director. From Ministry of Public Instruction and Fine Arts, Paris. July 21st, 1926. To Blackman Petrol Filter Co. Gentlemen, In reply to your letter of the 16th inst., I have the honour to inform you that the BLACKMAN PETROL FILTER that you sent to the office has been fitted to a Berliet lorry and up to the present time has functioned correctly. From THE ARC ATOMISER COMPANY, 94, Great Portland Street, London, W.1. September 10th, 1926. Dear Sirs, I am pleased to advise you that the Blackman Petrol Filter which I fitted between the petrol supply tank and the carburetter on my 3-cylinder Chandler car last week has proved a very great success. Since fitting the Filter I have not had occasion to touch it, nor have I had my choked jets in my carburetter, notwithstanding that the car has been run over 4,000 miles, using cheap petrol costing 1s. 3d. per gallon retail. I wish you every success which this device deserves. Yours faithfully, (Signed) W. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} WELLS, M.I.A.E., F.I.M.T. From S.A.R.A., 5, Rue Paul-Bert, Courbevoie. June 15th, 1926. The Blackman Petrol Filter Co. Gentlemen, We take pleasure in informing you that in the 24 hours' endurance race at Le Mans, 1926, one of your Filters was fitted to Car No. 43 throughout the whole tour. Car No. 42 was fitted with your Filter after twelve hours of continual stoppage of the carburetter. Several trustworthy witnesses saw the Filter fitted and willingly acknowledge that it stopped all the troubles immediately. From 41-49, Temple Chambers, Temple Avenue, London, E.C.4. June 3rd, 1926. Dear Sirs, I am very much obliged for your kindness. I have now used the Blackman Filter for seven months without a single stoppage on account of jet trouble. Yours faithfully, (Signed) A.{Mr Adams} VERNON BALDWIN. From Sc. Grosvenor Hill, Wimbledon, S.W.19. 20th August, 1926. The Blackman Petrol Filter Co., Ltd. Dear Sirs, I feel I must write and tell you how pleased and thankful I am that I purchased one of your Filters for my Morris Cowley car. I am now free from choked jets, but the most easing and extraordinary result is the decrease of oil consumption. Before fitting the Filter my average mileage was 35 miles to the gallon, but now I consistently do 40, and a few weeks ago did just on 45. Wishing you every success. Yours faithfully, (Signed) P. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} HARRIS (Colonel retd.). From 615, Lord Street, Southport. September 2nd, 1926. Dear Sirs, Although I have only run my car about 700 miles since fitting your Filter, an immense amount of dirt has accumulated in the sump, and I feel sure that you have an efficient filter. Yours faithfully, (Signed) J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} SUTCLIFFE. From W. A.{Mr Adams} MACLEAY & SON, Inverness. 6th August, 1926. Messrs. Blackman Petrol Filter Co., Ltd. Dear Sirs, Miss Harding wrote me some time ago regarding the Blackman Filter I had fitted to our launch and thinking you might be interested I would like to say that the filter has given every satisfaction. Previous to fitting it we were badly troubled with water in the carburetter as well as dirt, sand, which necessitated cleaning out the float chamber and jets about once a week. The Blackman Filter has proved so satisfactory that the last time I opened up the carburetter it was quite clean, with no traces of water, but the filter glass had a bad blob of water and some dirt. This I think speaks for itself. Please send me another filter of the same type for fitting on my car at your earliest convenience. Yours faithfully, (Signed) WILLIAM A.{Mr Adams} MACLEAY. From AERAUTO, 47, Rue de la{L. A. Archer} Victoire, Paris. June 4th, 1926. The Blackman Petrol Filter Co. Gentlemen, I take pleasure in informing you that the BLACKMAN PETROL FILTER, fitted to the engine of my Salmson 1,100 cmc, allowed me to make an untroubled run, and to be classed fourth among the racing cars. I had absolutely no trouble from my petrol throughout the whole of the 24 hours of the "Bol d'Or." On the contrary, I could only congratulate myself on the perfect acceleration of my engine due to the perfect carburation throughout the whole race, thanks to the BLACKMAN PETROL FILTER.
