We have received your report of the 4th.inst.

The steering levers are already dealt with in the report I sent you yesterday and it would certainly appear from Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}'s report that these were not bent.

We have already written Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} suggesting that the petrol system should be entirely cleaned out and a fresh start made.

I will arrange, however, to let him have a copy of your memo. which can be given to him when handing over 6-Goshawk-11 so that he can take advantage of the information contained therein.

As regards the loss of water. This trouble certainly seems rather elusive and one of which we do not propose to take any action or suggest any alterations until we are quite sure what action is taking place, but as soon as we have disposed with 6-Goshawk-11. we hope to be able to concentrate on our investigations on this matter which we can try out on the test bed and confirm on 7-Goshawk-11, which we hope will be returned to the Works from the Coachbuilders this coming Easter.

We are anxious to hear the results of the Conference that you have at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence with Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}, and although we have a considerable amount of work to carry on with, as previously mentioned, if you think any good could be done by my presence at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence, for, or during this occasion, I could fix up to do this on hearing from you. I do not, by any means, wish to push this matter unless you think some real good could be done by my being there.
