(3) The greatest and perhaps only fear of failure in this switch is that the moving piece which makes contact may be too high or too low, and the brushes if rigid may not make contact either on the under side or above.

The brushes it was intended should be a little more flexi-ble than on the model. They should be tried with thinner blades and slightly more deflection.

(4) The sheet metal terminals it would perhaps be found advantag-eous to be softer for closing over the cable ends. Annealing after bending would probably do all that is necessary.

(5) The black enamel on casing is very brittle which has result-ed{J. L. Edwards} in the pantographed lettering being chipped at the edges. This might be overcome by less time in baking.

(6) The spring washers under screws on terminals are very poor specimens, some even overlapping, thus:-

and others having the metal twisted in section, thus:-

We should procure more perfect and uniform ones than these.
