RE: DEPOT SHEET NO. 306.

USE OF ETHYL LEAD PETROLS.

Not being quite certain as to whether this Depot Sheet, advocating ethyl-lead petrol covered also the petrols in use and obtainable on the Continent, which also contains alcohol, we wrote to Paris for information.

They have replied, as per copy attached, and you will note they seem to be pretty generally pleased with at any rate certain brands in which the alcohol and the ethyl-lead constituents appear to have been blended.

As customers, especially those who have had trouble some years ago on the Continent, with fuels containing alcohol are certain to ask us whether ethyl-lead-alcohol-petrol spirits are approved by us, we should be glad if you would confirm that Depot Sheet No. 306 does cover such blends.
