Dear Sirs,

With reference to your ring type bump buffer shown at Earl's Court, we should like to try a pair of these on a car. We have prepared a drawing SCD.952, showing the various positions of the axle relative to the frame. We do not know how big the ring should be but have shown one 4" outside dia. In order to get the necessary bump movement the ring is shown slightly stretched in the normal position.

Will you please criticize this drawing. We do not want to go to a larger ring unless we have to because it will look ungainly. We would like to know if it is cheaper to mould the rubber direct to the lower fixing, as shown, or to a simple plate, as at the top.

Assuming that the drawing is satisfactory as it stands, we want to know your price for two pairs of these buffers.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
