RE METAL FOR HIGH AND LOW TENSION CONTACTS.

I am very pleased we know that tungsten can be successfully used for this purpose, instead of platinum.

The British Tomson-Houston, from whom we buy some magnetos and bakelite can be asked if they can help us with tungsten contact points for battery ignition contacts for low tension breaker, and high tension jump spark distributor. X.1812. Also, get some suitable pieces to make points for ignition plugs, if it is found that defective plugs are proved to be due to oxidised points, which I think is the case, but it may be insulation troubles, i.e. leaky plugs over carbon or through mica, or some slight want of spark length, due to variation in coils, or poor arrangement of secondary wires. The iron tubes may be especially harmful.
X.1114. I believe the B.T.H. a good market for tungsten incandescent electric lamps, for general lighting and for car work & watt especially.
