DERBY.

Dear Lovesey,

Many thanks for yours of the 20th July and with reference to the effect of Ethyl on magnesium alloys, I enclose herewith copies of a letter and two reports I have just sent to Major Bulman of the Ministry.

These, I think, answer your question and we do not expect trouble with engine parts at all. The "R" engine ran under the worst conditions that I know from the point of view of corrosion and there was no trouble in this respect.

If I can give you any further information on this, please let me know.

The young American, about whom I was talking to you this week, would probably like to come to Derby next week. If I can bring him, I will do so, but in case not I will give you a ring before he comes and I should be very grateful if you would show him round. It might be very useful propaganda from your point of view if he could have a run in the Bentley, but of course, I don't know whether this is possible or not.

Again, I should be exceedingly glad if you could do anything for me in this matter.

Kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,
F R Banks
