Bentley Crankshaft.

With regard to the crankshaft for the large bore engine, we are of the opinion that it would be advisable to have 1.250" wide crankpins. There is still a considerable increase in journal area and in view of the expected output from 3.5" bore when "hotted up", we think 1 1/8" length of crankpin will be insufficient.

We attach a table of bearing areas for the various arrangements, together with calculated critical speeds for the crankshaft.
